Aaron was born in-flight on an Ansett Fokker Friendship on September 5, 1970, in the airline's only known case of an inflight birth.. Aaron's premature arrival on Ansett flight 232 that day prompted the pilot to radio ahead:``Add one to the passenger list.''His birth certificate lists "Northern Territory in flight to Alice Springs from South Australia'' as his place of birth.

While living in Tennant Creek as a boy he was a basically a street kid and often slept in shop doorways living on nothing more than his wits. He arrived home one day to find his mother and seven brothers and sisters had all moved away without telling him. He then made himself a ward of the State and was sent to a home in Alice Springs.

He went to school in Alice Springs and to boarding school in Hamilton, Victoria. At school, he collected lots of awards and went on to win an ABC-TV journalism cadetship. When he was 20 he joined the ABC as a reporter. He worked in Melbourne and Sydney, covering news and sport. After a stint on ABC youth current affairs shows Attitude and Black Out, he decided journalism wasn't his thing and went on to pursue his first love, acting.

His first role was a small part in the mini-series Burned Bridge. After hosting the series Gladiators, he won a role in the film Dead Heart which starred Bryan Brown, went on to make a mini series with Seven called The Territorians and then scored a role in the ABC drama Wildside.

His next big series was Water Rats. It was an important role in that it was the first time an indigenous person had been given a role which was not specifically written for an aboriginal person. He has since been involved in many theatrical productions, films and television series as his career continues to thrive. A complete list is found in the filmography thread.

He arrived one episode before Frank left - he was part of the new detective three-some that was Jack (Steve Bisley), Goldie (Catherine McCelements) and Mick (Aaron Pedersen). Goldie was lated replaced by Alex (Dee Smart).
